Jay Marchetti has been a product development engineer for a number of companies spanning diverse business domains, starting at Eastman Kodak, where he worked in the group credited with the invention of the digital camera. Over the next 25 years he developed hardware, software, and systems for real-time and embedded products within the motion simulator, rail vehicle, and power distribution industries. Later, he founded and ran a small embedded systems consulting and development company for 10 years, while also engaged as a Visiting Scientist at the SEI. 
Since joining the SEI full-time as a Senior Member of the Technical Staff, his primary focus has been delivering software design and code quality assessments for his customers, with an emphasis on reducing program risks by applying static analysis tools to their contractors' "ground truth" deliverables, i.e. the code.
